1. What cookies and similar technologies are
Cookies are small text files that a website or service may place on a browser or device. They can support security, navigation, preferences, performance, analytics, and advertising. Local storage is a browser feature that can remember a value on a device without using a traditional cookie. Pixels, tags, and scripts may transmit information when a page loads or an action occurs.
Some technologies operate only for the current session. Others remain until they expire or are deleted. First-party technologies are associated with the website domain; third-party technologies are provided by another service.
2. Technology used by the delivered custom sections
The custom home-page code delivered for this website uses local storage for one limited preference: remembering whether a visitor selected the dark or light visual theme. The storage key is jm-theme. The value is expected to be “dark” or “light.” It does not contain a name, email address, message, or advertising identifier.
The custom project brief form validates fields in the browser and displays a completion state. In its delivered form, it does not use cookies or local storage for form entries and does not transmit the entries to a server or third-party processor.
The custom sections do not include advertising pixels, behavioral profiling scripts, social media trackers, or a third-party analytics script. If those services are added later, this policy and the consent controls should be updated before they are activated.
3. Technologies Shopify or the theme may use
Shopify and the active theme may use cookies or similar technologies independently of the custom code. These may support storefront security, network routing, fraud prevention, consent status, customer sessions, checkout, language, cart features, performance, and store analytics. The exact names and durations can change as Shopify updates its services or as the website owner changes theme settings and installed applications.
Because this website is assembled in Shopify, the website owner should review Shopify’s current cookie documentation and the store’s actual browser storage before publishing a final cookie inventory.
4. Categories
| Category | Purpose | Custom section status | Typical control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, network delivery, fraud prevention, and core storefront functions. | No custom cookie is added for these functions; Shopify may provide them. | Usually cannot be disabled through a consent preference when essential. |
| Preference | Remember choices such as dark or light appearance. | Local storage key jm-theme. | Delete site data in the browser or switch themes again. |
| Analytics | Understand page use, navigation, and performance. | No third-party analytics script is included in the delivered custom sections. | Where used, consent or opt-out controls may apply. |
| Advertising | Measure campaigns, build audiences, or personalize advertising. | No advertising pixel is included in the delivered custom sections. | Where used, prior consent or state-law opt-out may apply. |
5. Font delivery
The custom design engine requests Syne, Plus Jakarta Sans, and JetBrains Mono from Google Fonts. When a browser requests a font file, the font provider may receive technical connection information such as IP address, browser type, and request time. The custom code does not use that request to set an advertising cookie. A website owner that prefers to avoid the external font request may self-host properly licensed font files and remove the Google Fonts lines from the design engine.
6. Consent and preference controls
Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential analytics, advertising, or personalization technologies, those technologies should remain disabled until the visitor makes a valid choice. A consent banner should accurately reflect the live website configuration and should provide equally accessible accept and reject choices where required.
The delivered custom sections do not create a consent banner because they do not add analytics or advertising trackers. Shopify or installed applications may provide their own consent functionality. The website owner remains responsible for confirming that the live store’s controls match the technologies actually in use.
7. How to manage browser storage
Most browsers allow a user to view, block, or delete cookies and site data through privacy or security settings. Blocking all cookies may affect core website or checkout functions. Deleting local storage will remove the saved theme choice and the website will return to its default appearance.
Browser controls vary by product and version. Users should consult their browser’s current help documentation for device-specific steps. Private browsing modes may clear session data more frequently.
8. Global privacy signals
Some browsers or extensions send Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signals. The delivered custom sections do not perform targeted advertising and therefore do not need to alter advertising behavior in response to such a signal. If advertising or qualifying data-sharing technology is enabled later, the website configuration should be reviewed so supported legal signals are honored where required.
9. Third-party services
A client or website administrator may later enable analytics, advertising, chat, video, scheduling, CRM, or other services. Those providers may place or read their own technologies and maintain separate privacy terms. Juniper Metric does not control a provider’s independent practices. Before enabling a provider, the website owner should review purpose, data flow, retention, consent requirements, and available contractual safeguards.
10. Retention
The jm-theme preference remains in local storage until a user clears browser site data or the website code removes it. Session cookies generally end when a browsing session closes, while persistent cookies may remain until their stated expiration. Shopify and other providers determine the duration of their own technologies.
11. Updates
This policy may be updated when the website’s technology changes or when legal requirements develop. The “Last updated” date identifies the current published version. A material addition of analytics or advertising technology should be reflected in this policy and in the live consent controls.
